With the increase in global connectivity, the ability to persevere and work effectively with people and organizations from diverse cultural backgrounds is seen as an important asset.

Multicultural competence means an individual should be efficient in a culturally diverse setting. It involves (a) having the intrinsic interest to acquire different cultural knowledge; (b) possessing knowledge about other cultures; (c) being aware of one’s own cultural values and beliefs, and their potential assumptions and biases; and (d) being able to respond in a culturally appropriate manner. Grit is seen as an exceptional stamina to achieve multicultural competence in an organization.

This course will talk about the importance of developing grit not just only in an individual perspective but as an organization’s initiative. Participants will learn that an organization needs to have an overarching goal that they are committed to and then connect individual goals and background to these. This course will highlight the role of grit in developing a multicultural competence in an organization and enable them to do more.
